How do I get the dvd’s to change codec?

Question by Proud Aussie: How do I get the dvd’s to change codec? I have downloaded a couple of dvd’s and they were in the MKV format. I tried to convert them with “Any Video Converter”, but they are still not working in my DVD. They work on the PC, but not the DVD. I
